"I
was one of the first in Norway to convert to Force Fins. Since then
I have received so many "thanks" from people that I have helped
convert.
I'm a rather experienced diver, with 1950 dives throughout the world,
but most in Norwegian waters. I do both summer and winter diving, most
of the time with the Viking Pro divesuit. Nowadays I also run Divepartner
Diveschool, and 95% of my students buy Force Fins after trying them
in the course.
I
often hear fellow divers complaining: "I am a long suffering martyr
to the classic "divers cramp" in the back of the calf or in the ankle!"
I really know that one! My cramps started almost the first time I dove
and in the pool while doing the scuba course in 1982. Later I experienced
them every now and then, especially on the 2nd dive every day until
I bought my first pair of Force Fins. Now I haven't had these cramps
since 1991. The reason is probably that a normal fin is designed to
be an extension of the foot itself, causing "stress" [on the ankles
and calves] that gives you muscle cramps while you swim. Force Fins,
however are an extension of the leg bone/ankle creating another type
of "kick" that doesn't stress the muscles in your foot and calf muscle.
You can even wriggle your toes while diving!!!
Presenting Force Fins to my friends in my diving club back in '91 wasn't
easy. I was laughed at. They thought I looked like Donald Duck! (quack-quack)
and just looked at me while they shook their heads, until they saw how
comfortable I was with with them. During my dives I had no problem swimming
as fast as my friends with "ordinary" flippers. The Force Fin Pro will
economize your swimming efforts/power and they have a special "flip"/backstroke
because of the "snappy" polyurethane material that gives you "free power".
We will not swap with anyone!!
Diving doctors/physicians tell me that "muscle stressing" is the cause
of these cramps not water temperature. If you have some friends that
own Force Fins of your size, try to borrow them for a few dives. The
first few times you may feel like you're wearing no flippers at all.
Most divers I know get used to that feeling and they love it! I love
to use my Force Fins while taking under water photos, standing on my
knees on the sea bed. They are easy to put on and off and you can have
them on while walking on the shore; much easier than with conventional
fins.
Nowadays
you can get many types of Force Fins. I love my Force Fin Pros, but look
at the different models at www.forcefin.com to learn more about the Force
Fin idea! This may sound as if I'm a sales representative with interests
in the company, but I'm not! I'm just an ordinary, very active Norwegian
drysuit diver that loves his hobby and got rid of his foot and leg cramps
using Force Fins! "
